For executives, relocating families, and long-stay travelers, hotel rooms in central Kyoto or Osaka can feel transient. THE KAKU offers another way: a whole private machiya residence in Nara — quiet, spacious, and three minutes on foot from Nara Park.
Why Nara, not Kyoto
Nara holds the depth of Japanese culture without the crowds. From THE KAKU, Nara Park and Kofuku-ji Temple are about a 3-minute walk; Kintetsu Nara Station is 8 minutes on foot. Kyoto is roughly 35 minutes away by car and Osaka about 40 — close enough for meetings, far enough for stillness. Morning walks among the deer before your first call: that is the rhythm of a stay here.
