We stayed for almost two consecutive months at The Kaku during our first family exploration of Japan. It became our peaceful base, a place to recharge after exploring Japan’s beautiful yet often overcrowded and oversold cities. Whenever we needed to disconnect from the tourist rush, The Kaku and Nara offered calm and comfort for both our kids and us. Nara turned out to be the perfect location to truly feel Japan — just a short drive or train ride from Kyoto, Osaka, or even Nagoya.

Kaku san was the perfect host and went out of his way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. He always responded immediately to our requests and questions and offered valuable local advice.
